With help from Adrain, Mike and Steve we were able to insulate, run electrical wires and outlets, hang sheetrock, texture, and paint in about two months. ![]() This is the wall that was built to seperate the studio from the storage space. Alot of 2 X 4's, R-19 insulation, and 5/8" sheetrock. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Here is a shot of the corner where the ceiling and walls meet. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Welcome to the vocal booth ![]() Another shot of the vocal booth. I knew it was going to need some room treatment in the form of Aurelex sheets and bass traps.. This room sounded horrible before the Aurelex. ![]() Mackie Onyx 1640 Mixer with our cat "Onyx" checking it out. Update: Onyx passed away January 26th, 2006 at only two years old. We will miss him dearly. What a wonderful cat. ![]() Having the carpet installed really made the room feel more cozy. ![]() Now we're getting somewhere. It was finally time to move the drums into the new studio. ![]() Here are the Aurelex pyramid 2"x2' x 4' sheets. This is the real deal here. This stuff ain't cheap. Now that the studio is built, its time for some bass traps. I am using 2' X 4' X 4" mineral wool. The wood frame is 1" X 4" with fabric stapled across the frame to hold the mineral wool in place. I purchased 32 pieces of the wool which will be mounted to walls and corners and a few on the ceiling. ![]() ![]() Here is the first wood frame for the bass traps. ![]() One finished bass trap and many more to go. ![]() ![]() Two bass traps on the back wall. ![]() Back wall with three completed bass traps. You can see the bare mineral wool stacked in the corner. This room should sound pretty good when I am finished building and hanging the traps. Home |
