SO WHAT IS A VOICE TALENT, ANYWAY?

It's difficult to come up with a precise term in response to the question.
Call it voiceover,  voice actor or voice artist... basically, I'm a  "Professional voice talent"
I have over 10 years experience as a male voice talent for local and regional clients.
Many ad agencies, recording studios, and production companies call me when they have a voiceover job.
My voice has been employed in recording radio commercials, technical or industrial training, , on-hold phone messages or voice mail navigation,  and promos for radio/TV stations.  I got my start as a On Air Personality
( fancy way of saying DJ) on both the AM and FM bands.  I hosted a morning talkshow,  recorded radio commercials and DJ'd at the station.

Recently, the voiceover industry has been turned upside down by the internet and an audio format called MP3, which renders high-quality audio files at roughly 1/10th the size of the previously dominant format (.wav). This means that the voiceover component of a 30-second commercial can now be recorded and sent as an email attachment not much larger than your average Word document. Geographical barriers are now irrelevant. While my home/studio is in the Greater Houston area, I can now offer voiceover services for clients anywhere in the country (or the world). The vast majority of my voice jobs are delivered via FTP or email ...and most jobs can be completed within 24 hours.

So whats this going to cost?
This is one of the hardest questions I get.  I take each job into consideration and come up with price based on several factors.  Some of the factors that can go into this include where the final product will be aired (for example, network television is very expensive, but local radio or something airing exclusively on cable TV is less so...), how long it will be used, the length of the script, the complexity of the script, whether or not the final audio files need to be edited down into individual assets or can be delivered as a single "lump" file, whether or not you need music or sound effects added, whether or not I need to dial into your phone system to record voice prompts, etc.
It's best to describe your project in some detail and ask for a quote.  I have done jobs for as little as 50 bucks but more elaborate, time consuming jobs can cost well over 1000.

You can contact me via email or voice.
